Modern Website Design.
I’m a London-based designer who creates websites that are distinctive and highly functional. None of my websites look the same because each client’s needs are different.

The wonderful singer, Sarah Moule, wanted a new look for her WordPress website. The theme (which controls the look of the website) was old and not functioning well. Working together with Sarah, I designed a new theme which had a clean but sophisticated look.
We also worked together organising the content of the website, with the addition of custom areas for her events and reviews.
WordPress is a highly flexible content management system, and designing a bespoke theme is a relatively quick and easy way of refreshing an existing website.
My good friend Tamsin Collison is a multi-talented writer and director. She wanted a new website to display her portfolio of work, including her projects as a librettist and lyricist and the large number of audiobooks that she has directed (everything from Beowulf to Ian Rankin).
Most of all, she wanted a clean, professional website that was easy to navigate and highlighted her range of expertise.
The Dream Factory is a website that I have helped to maintain and develop alongside a small team of other volunteers and workers.
The Dream Factory is a charity that helps children and young adults who have life-threatening conditions or who suffer from severe disabilities.
Because of COVID-19, most of their fundraising events have been cancelled. Now more than ever, they need their website to stay in touch with the public and to help raise money. If you would like to find out more about this worthwhile and valuable charity, please visit their website.
Pianist and composer Chris Lee wanted a new website for his set of songs based on Kurt Wallander, the detective created by Swedish author Henning Mankell. This is fairly-much a one page website, allowing the visitor to get an immediate taste of Chris’s atmospheric work. I look forward to hearing it in performance, as soon as we’re over COVID-19.
A website for Rachel Sutton, a fabulous singer whose new CD has just been released. Rachel asked me for a new website to replace her old one that I designed way back in 2014.
This is a design for a flyer for Ian Shaw’s new album What’s New. Ian is such a talented artist, and it’s a privilege to take care of his website, developing it and keeping it fresh – incorporating the superb photography of Lisa Wormsley, among others.
I have been working with Tristan Mailliot on his website for many years now. Recently the website was migrated from Joomla to WordPress and a sophisticated e-shop was added using the WooCommerce plugin.
The website of my very good friend Melanie Collis. A website that shows off her fabulous designs. I manage the site, posting new pictures for her and finding new ways to present her ever-changing range of products.
Everything You Need To Know
(and some things you don't)
Now for some jargon. I design websites mainly using WordPress which is an extremely popular CMS (content management system) that allows you to update the website yourself. I also use Joomla for more complex websites or static design for simpler designs.
All my designs are responsive – meaning that the website will automatically adapt to display on all types of devices. Like desktops, laptops, iPads, iPhones or smart phone. Just like this website!
My website include many components such as slideshows, galleries, music players, embeds, social network feeds, feedback forms, subscriptions lists (MailChimp) etc – everything you need to make your website fully functional.
I can build a site to an agreed budget or on a hour by hour basis. At the end of the job you will be supplied with full access, passwords etc. There are absolutely no tie-ins. Though naturally I’m happy to offer you as much on-going support as you need.
